Your Website
We highly recommend using WordPress for building your website. Not only is it free, but it’s also easy to learn to use and you’ll find that it’s a lot easier to find things to work on the WordPress platform than any other CMS.
Web Hosting
We’ve been using KnownHost for a few years now. We’ve had under 3 hours of downtime total and their support response time is fabulous. Plus, they are very affordable.
Create Slides/Videos
If you’re on a Mac, you probably have KeyNote installed. It’s pretty simple to use. For PC users, Office Powerpoint is a solid option. If you’d prefer to go with something free for the PC, download OpenOffice.
Recording On–Screen Presentations
We suggest using Screenflow for the Mac and Camtasia for the PC. Both are solid programs.
Shopping Cart
Nanacast has been our shopping cart for several years. It’s an inexpensive system that is easy to learn how to use. It integrates with most payment processors. You can offer an affiliate program with it. You can also use it for creating digital downloads including membership options. Plus, it has upsells and downsells built in.
Autoresponder
We’re fans of ActiveCampaign. We actually have a white label version of it for our clients. (If you’re a client of ours and want to use our white label, please contact us.)
Many of our clients are using ConvertKit. This has some nice bells and whistles, especially if you are a heavy blogger.
Membership Sites
We highly recommend WishList Member. It does require an above average level of knowledge to handle advanced customization. That said, for a one-time license fee, you can use it to offer multiple products through one integrated dashboard. Plus, if you have different domains, they have a multi-site option. Again, their support has been phenomenal.
If you’ll be having a monthly membership program of some kind, MemberMouse is probably your best bet. It can handle multiple programs, allow your customers to self-manage their billing information making it hands-off for you, it offers upsells and downsells, plus it has excellent reporting. Why it’s not our preferred solution is that it has monthly fees associated with it.
Payment Processing
Stripe rocks and you can use it with most systems. As much as PayPal can be a nightmare to deal with, for lower priced products, you can get a boost in sales by offering a PayPal payment option. We use Intuit for ACH processing.
Opt-in Pages
We prefer creating our own custom opt-in pages. But if you prefer to get things up and running fast, we’d recommend taking a look at LeadPages. If you do use LeadPages, get the Pro version. It is well worth the extra cost.
Funnels
As with opt-in pages, we prefer creating our own custom funnels. If you’re a do-it-yourselfer, you may want to check out ClickFunnels. There is a steep learning curve associated with it, but it’s not as bad as trying to do everything from scratch.
Webinars
For live webinars, we recommend GoToWebinar. It’s not a flawless system, but it works better than most. For on-demand webinars or evergreen webinars, we suggest StealthSeminar.
Teleconferences/Teleclasses
InstantTeleseminar is an awesome service if you want to have a teleconference.
